Poodles > Once Zeus was bathed and Zeus' feet were shaved to remove the matting it was found that his feet had been burned by the urine that soaked his matts.

Poodles > Buddy is aprox. 3 years old.

His coat was matted and embedded with horse feces, plant material and debris. It was matted so tightly to his skin that his coat had to be shaved off.

Poodles > Like all the dogs Buddy had to be carried into the groomer, the vet and even his temporary foster home. We doubt he had ever been on a leash or in a car.

Please note how thin he is.

Poodles > Please note how red Buddy's eyes are - like most of the dogs he had bi-lateral conjunctivitis, a contagious eye infection.

Also please note the apricot sized lump on his left front elbow. So developed because he has spent a great deal of time lying on a hard surface.

Poodles > This is Ellerie.

She is aprox. 2 years and her coat was so matted and embedded with horse feces, plant matter and debris that her coat had to be shaved completely off.

Ellerie has conjunctivitis which is a contagious eye infection.

Poodles > Her coat was so badly matted, in order to avoid putting her through further trauma, her coat had to be completely shaved to the bare skin.

Poodles > Ellerie’s teeth have been neglected and need to be cleaned but even after her first two weeks of foster care and extra food she is still so under weight that the vet does not yet want to put her through teeth cleaning. The vet was also concerned that with teeth cleaning bacterial infection to the blood stream could compromise her heart function -- especially given her inadequate weight.

Poodles > This is Dante. He is extremely thin for his age and size.

Matted, filthy dirty with bi-lateral conjunctivitis which is a contagious eye infection.

Dante is extemely skiddish and shy - had likely never been on a leash or in a car and initially had to be carried every where.

Poodles > Rachel is aprox. 5 years old.

She was turned in with a large mass/tumor in her groin area.

Like many others her teeth were severely coated with plaque indicating improper diet.

Poodles > Like all the others her toenails were curled under and looked like talons that had never been trimmed.

Poodles > She had raging diarrhea that turned out to be due to stage four Giardia.

Rachel also had blood in her urine, which would leave us to believe that she had a bladder infection in addition to Giardia. Both Giardia and urinary tract infections with bleeding present are often caused by a lack of fresh water and the drinking of stagnant water.
